Et oui, à l'occasion de la Coupe du Monde et sous l'influence d'un autre francophone (Nico), on a décidé de mettre le drapeau français dans l'appart...la taille!

Nico est donc venu me rendre visite du 15 au 19 juin. On n'a pas perdu de temps, puisque dès son arrivée jeudi on a testé un pub!! Ben oui, le pub local où mes colocs vont en général tous les mardis, pour le quizz. "The Crumpled Horn". Bon, apparemment pour Nico le cidre n'est pas passé cette fois!

Vendredi après le boulot on s'est baladés le long de la Tamise, et bu un délicieux milkshake made in Starbucks. On a fini dans un pub à Whitehall où on s'est fait un délicieux chili con carne.

Après ça, rien de tel qu'une petite balade...jusqu'à Buckingham Palace! Ben on ne pouvait pas ne pas passer le bonjour à la Queen!!! On s'est donc d'office invités chez elle pour une Garden Party le dimanche 18, avec au programme BBQ et crêpes... Biensûr on blaguait...

En rentrant à l'appart on a un peu fait les fous (d'où la photo de Nico en fan de Bon Jovi et supporter de l'Angleterre!), on était les seuls debout (ouh ouh... les p'tits joueurs étaient déjà couchés!!!)

Yeah, due to one major event (i.e. the World Cup) and under the influence of another French person (Nico), I had to put the French flag in the flat!!! 

Nico came to visit me from June 15th till 19th. We didn't waste time as on the very same day he arrived we headed to the local pub in Upminster (that's where my flatmates usually go every Tuesday for the pub quizz)."The Crumpled Horn". Weeeel, it seems like this time cider wasn't the best choice for Nico... He could barely drink it!

On Friday after work I met up with Nick and we went for a walk along the river Thames and drank a delicious milkshake made in Starbucks!!!

We ended up in a Wetherspoon pub near Whitehall and had chili con carne. After this, we decided we could still make the most of the day by going for a walk...up to Buckingham Palace! Well, come on we could not possibly forget to say HELLO to the Queen!!! We then decided we'd have a special Garden Party on Sunday 18th, with a BBQ and crepes...Sure we were kiddin' ourselves...

Back home we started cracking up and acting crazy (hence the picture of Nico as a Bon Jovi and England fan!!). We were the only ones up (boo boo... li'l boyz were already in bed!!)

Voici donc les nouvelles toutes fraîches live from Upminster! J'ai emmenagé le 11 juin (juste après mon méga super concert de Bon Jovi) et tout se passe bien. Je suis donc de nouveau en coloc mais cette fois avec des gens que je connais. Il ya donc Dale (que je ne présente plus), James qui bosse avec Dale (super sympa), et Richard.

Upminster est dans l'Essex (à l'est de Londres) en zone 6 par rapport au réseau du transport londonien (East Ham est en zone 3). Mais finalement je ne mets pas plus de temps pour aller au taf, et l'avantage c'est que maintenant je prends le train, et non plus le métro: tout bénéf! Je voyage donc avec tous les hommes d'affaires habillés en costard qui bossent à la City... C'est assez marrant. Je mets environ 20 minutes en train et après j'ai à peine 10 minutes de marche, donc ça le fait carrément!

L'appart est sympa, et j'adore ma chambre qui a une bonne taille et qui est très lumineuse. J'ai un super bureau aussi, ce qui est carrément pratique pour mettre toutes mes affaires.

So here are the latest news live from Upminster! I moved in on June 11th (right after the stunning Bon Jovi gig) and so far so good. I'm sharing the flat with Dale, James (who works with Dale, very nice chap) and Richard.

Upminster is in Essex (in the East of London) and in zone 6 (East Ham is in zone 3). But in the end it takes me roughly the same amount of time to get to work. And a great thing is that from now on I take the train, and no longer the tube. It's so much more comfortable! I therefore travel with all those Ci'y businessmen wearing ties...quite funny! It takes me about 20 minutes on the train and then I just need to walk for another 10 minutes and that's it I'm at work!

The flat is quite nice, and I love my room: it's quite big and well-lit. I have a large desk as well, which is very convenient to put all my stuff.

Bon eh bien voilà quelques news: le boulot se passe toujours aussi bien, même si on a eu une période de creux récemment du à une hausse des prix (donc pas de commande dit pas de docs à traiter). Irina, ma collègue qui me formait, part en vacances pour 2 semaines donc je vais être seule à m'occuper des expéditions, docs, clients... Je pense que ça ira quand même et puis les autres seront toujours là en cas de besoin!

Côté sorties, jeudi j'ai vu ma copine Carolina (italienne) et on a bien discuté, ça faisait un bail! On est allées faire des repérages chez Miss Sixty et autres boutiques super super sympa mais aussi très très chères... Y a ce magasin notamment, Therapy qui est très fashion et ils ont des fringues supers!!

Vendredi: soirée bien mouvementée avec ma copine Julie (danoise). On a commencé par aller au pub pour quelques consos, et puis on est parties dans un délire avec la musique qu'ils jouaient, c'était terrible. On a pas mal bu (on ne comptait même plus) et chanté, et déliré... Suis donc restée dormir chez elle car il n'y avait plus de train pour moi...

Samedi: coiffeur!! Yes, il était temps que je coupe mes cheveux et que je me refasse des mèches. Mais je pensais pas que ça prendrait aussi longtemps!! Je suis arrivée à 14H et repartie à 18H!!! Bref, je suis plutôt satisfaite du résultat (cf photo), donc ça valait le coup. Après j'ai rejoint Dale dans le centre et on est allés manger dans un pub. Soirée tranquillou, bien sympathique!

Dimanche: Julie est venue à East Ham, on a beaucoup parlé, c'est cool. On a passé toute l'aprem à discuter, regarder des photos, puis on est allées manger au pub.

Voilà pour mon weekend! J'espère que tout le monde va bien!

Hi everyone!!

So these are the latest news: the job is still going well, though this has been a very quiet time for us since the prices have been going up. So basically no orders, which means no docs to deal with... But Irina, my colleague who's been training me, is going on holiday for 2 weeks. Thus I'll be on my own to take care of all the shipments, docs and customers. I think it's gonna be ok though, what with my other colleagues who are gonna give me a hand if I need any help.

The "going out" update: I met up with my friend Carolina on Thursday. It was great to catch up with her as we hadn't seen each other for a while. We went window-shopping (only) at Miss Sixty and other very nice shops that have great clothes but very expensive ones, too. There was this shop in particular, Therapy, that we loved cos they have so many original and trendy clothes...

Friday: met up with my friend Julie and we thought it was gonna be a quiet and eventless evening... We just went to the pub for a few drinks, but we ended up ordering more and more drinks and started dancing and singing along with the music... It was wicked! I ended up staying at hers since there weren't any train left for me to go back home.

Saturday: hairdressers appointment. Yes, I really needed a hair cut and new highlights! But I didn't think it would be so long... I came in for 2pm and got out at 6pm!!! I almost fell asleep... Well, in the end, I'm quite happy with my hair so it was worth waiting! (cf photo) Afterwards I met up with Dale in central London and we had dinner and drinks at the pub. Just a nice and quiet night, for a change! ;-)

Sunday: Julie came round in East Ham and we spent the afternoon talking a lot and looking at pictures. We had dinner in a pub, too and that was it!

Tomorrow is a bank holiday so I guess I'll just stay in and have a relaxing day.

Je vous présente ma série préférée: ALIAS!!! Je suis littéralement accro et là je viens de finir la saison 4 en plein suspens... Pour ceux qui suivent, franchement quel retournement de situation! C'est quoi cette histoire avec Vaughn qui ne s'appellerait pas Michael Vaughn et qui ne serait peut-être pas un "gentil"??

J'ai acheté tous les coffrets (enfin avec Béa on s'est partagées la collection), mais la saison 5 n'est pas encore dispo... Elle passe actuellement aux States, mais pas ici... Snif!!

This is my fave TV show, ALIAS! I'm literally addicted to it and I have just finished watching series 4, with such a cliffhanger at the end... For those of you who know the show, have u seen that suspens at the end of the last episode? What is it with Vaughn not really being Michael Vaughn and maybe not being a "good guy"?

I've bought all the DVD sets (in fact I share the collection with my sis), but series 5 is not available yet... It's currently on in the US, but not here unfortunately... Whatch' am I gonna do? :-(
