Voilà la vue de Tokyo Tower by night dont je vous parlais. Désolée, la photo est un peu floue....

Après Roppongi, on s'est dirigées vers Iidabashi car Béa voulait aller tester un resto marocain. Bon, on a vachement été déçues! Les portions étaient ridicules et puis les plats ne ressemblaient pas du tout à un couscous ni à un tajine...

Pourtant les cuistots étaient tous les deux algériens ou marocains, mais quelle déception! En plus, le serveur était relou à nous murmurer "shitsurei itashimasu" sans arrêt (traduction: "si je peux me permettre"). Tu peux parler plus fort, tu sais mon gars!!! On a donc demandé direct quelles étaient les portions vu qu'au Japon tout est plus petit. Mais super la réponse du mec: eh bien c'est pour une personne. Merci pour ton aide... LOL

Beniko a été la plus malchanceuse: son tajine ne ressemblait à rien, avec quelques carottes, et dans la viande y avait que des os... Le goût n'était pas terrible non plus.

Béa s'en est le mieux sortie: tajine au poulet, bon goût, quantité raisonnable.

Moi avec mon couscous: ben j'ai tout mangé mais ça n'avait pas du tout le goût d'un couscous...

Le pire c'est que c'était cher! (15 euros au moins/personne!).

Petite anecdote:au début on pensait que le serveur parlait français puisque les menus étaient écrits aussi bien en jap qu'en français. Il nous a aussi entendu parler français. Mais pas une seule fois il ne nous a parlé en français, toujours en jap. Donc on en a conclu que finalement il le parlait peut-être pas, curieux quand même vu le menu... Donc du coup on a pas mal critiqué la bouffe etc. LOL Mais en allant payer, il nous a parlé en français!!! Qui l'aurait cru??!! Bref... On en a bien rigolé après.

Deuxième anecdote: pour trinquer j'ai failli dire "tchin tchin", en fait je l'ai presque dit mais heureusement les filles m'ont arrêté! En Japonais, ce mot a un tout autre sens... Hum... Comment vous dire ça sans être vulgaire... C'est l'appareil génital masculin, quoi!! LOL

Conclusion: attention!!!!!!!!!! Pour trinquer on dit KAMPAI.

After Roppongi we made our way to Iidabashi cos Bea wanted to try that Moroccan restaurant. Well, it was a big disappointment! The portions were of a ridiculous size and the dishes didn't look like a tajine or couscous at all...

The cooks were Algerian or Moroccan, but we were very disappointed. Moreover the waiter was annoying as he kept muttering "shitsurei itashimasu" ("if I may"). Well, c'mon speak up, man!!! We immediately asked how big the portions were as in Japan everything's smaller. But watch out for the guy's answer: well, it's for one person. Great, thanks for your help... LOL

Beniko was the most unfortunate: her tajine didn't look like anything at all, just a few carrots, and there were only bones in her meat... It didn't taste great either.

Béa did quite well: her chicken tajine was very good and the quantity quite reasonable.

I had a couscous: well, I ate everything, but it wasn't amazing and didn't taste much like a couscous...

The worst part of it was that it was expensive (about £10 pounds each just for a dish!)

FYI: at the beginning we thought that the waiter spoke French as the menu was written both in Japanese and French. He heard us talk in French, but never spoke to us in French, only in Japanese. So we jumped to the conclusion that he could not understand French... and started criticising the food. LOL But while paying the bill he spoke in French!!! Who would have though so??!! Weeeeel, we burst out laughing when outside the restaurant...

FYI 2: when you clink glasses in Japan, watch out! I almost said "tchin tchin" (the way we, French people, say CHEEERS!) but the girls stopped me just in time! In Japanese, it means something completely different... Errm... How can I explain it to you without being rude... It's the male sexual attribute! LOL

 Conclusion: be careful!!!!!!!!!! To clink glasses just say KAMPAI.

Roppongi Hills est un endroit où on trouve un grand complexe de buildings modernes avec un depato (de l'anglais "department store"), i.e. grand magasin, un cinéma, des restaurants (dont celui de notre illustre Joel Robuchon!!!), des musées etc... Il y a donc de quoi faire! C'est assez bondé le soir: les gens sont attirés par les illuminations, et puis on a une superbe vue de Tokyo Tower de nuit...

Pour en revenir à Joel Robuchon, il y a donc un petit magasin avec des viennoiseries et sandwichs, et puis le grand restaurant... Rien qu'à voir le prix d'un pain au chocolat (2-3 euros), on n'imagine même pas le prix d'un plat au resto... LOL

Roppongi Hills is a place where you can find a big multiplex with modern buildings, a department store, a cinema, a couple of restaurants (among which Joel Robuchon's!!!), museums... Plenty of things to do! It's usually quite crowded at night: people are attracted by the beautiful lights and there's a splendid view of the Tokyo Tower as well...

Talking about Joel Robuchon, there's a shop selling all kinds of sandwiches and patisserie, and then there's a big restaurant... But just have a look at the prices of a pain au chocolat (£1.5-2) and you'll be put off straight away... I cannot even imagine how costly the restaurant must be... LOL

Regardez-moi cette vue imprenable de Tokyo... Plutôt impressionnant, non? C'est hallucinant de voir à quel point la ville s'étend. Et sur cette photo on voit bien les sortes d'autoroutes qui passent dans la ville! Les buildings sont énormes aussi...

Look at that astonishing view of Tokyo... Impressed? I bet you are! It's just unimaginable to see how far the capital city stretches. And you can also see the kind of highways that go through the city centre! The buildings are huge, too...

La fameuse Tokyo Tower qui nous rappelle biensûr notre Tour Eiffel... Elle est plus jolie illuminée le soir (tout comme la Tour Eiffel d'ailleurs, non?)...

The oh so famous Tokyo Tower which, of course reminds us of... our dear Eiffel Tower. It's even more beautiful at night with all its lights on (just like the Eiffel Tower, no?)...

Alors, que'est-ce que c'est?? Devinez.... Eh oui, en plein dans le mille: une station essence!!! Les pompes tiennent en l'air, et c'est encore une astuce que les Japonais ont trouvé pour économiser de l'espace! Ils sont trop forts! Mais certaines pompes à essence sont exactement comme en Europe...

So, guess what it is?? Yep, got it: a petrol station!!! The pumps hang out from the ceiling and it is another trick that the Japanese have found to save space! They're very clever! But note that some petrol stations are just like in Europe...
