21 juillet: nous arrivons à Kyoto à 7H du mat' à peu près. Assez crevées puisque nous n'avons pas beaucoup/bien dormi dans le bus.

Mauvaise surprise: il pleut! On va se prendre un p'tit déj chez l'ami du coin, le McDo. Ca nous met un peu plus en forme. On va donc à la recherche de l'auberge de jeunesse où on a réservé pour deux nuits. Ca va, elle est pas très loin de la gare et pas difficile à trouver non plus.

On dépose donc nos affaires, puis on va visiter un premier temple, juste à côté.

July 21st: we arrived in Kyoto at 7am! We were knackered as we didnt get much sleep on the bus...

Bad news: it's raining!!! So we decided to go for breakfast first, and we ended up at McDonald's. It helped us wake up and be prepared for the day! We then made our way to the youth hostel where we had booked for 2 nights. It was close to the station ( a 10-min walk) and quite easy to find.

We left all our stuff there, and started visiting temples. The first one was just round the corner from the youth hostel.

On the pic u can see the "front room" in the youth hostel. Very traditional Japanese style. The place was quite good by the way. Clean and cosy.

20 juillet: on va au shukodo (la cantine) rejoindre les autres pour manger ensemble. C'est bon et relativement pas trop cher. Après ça, on prend le scooter de Béa et on se rend au "centre-ville" pour voir le château de Kofu... Enfin, ce qu'il en reste! C'est tout en hauteur, et du coup, on a une super vue sur la ville.

 Après, on est parties faire des purikura (sortes de mini-photo autocollantes avec des fonds originaux et qu'on peut décorer). Ca vient de l'anglais "print club"... Bon, je sais, faut chercher loin, mais les Japonais utilisent pas mal de mots anglais qu'ils déforment à leur façon. Les purikura c'est une vraie folie là-bas!!!

20H30: il est temps pour nous de prendre le bus de nuit pour nous rendre à Kyoto... Eh oui, les trains étant très chers (le transport en général, d'ailleurs), il est plus économique pour nous de voyager de nuit avec le bus...

July 20th: we went to the shukodo (canteen) to catch up with the guys and have our lunch all together. The food is quite nice and not too pricey. Afterwards we took Bea's scooter to go to the town centre. We went to see Kofu Castle - or rather its remnants... It's quite uphill, so we had a very nice vew of Kofu from up there.

Then we went on to do some purikura (there are some sort of small photos on self-adhesive paper, with original backgrounds and deco). The word comes from English: "print club"... I know, it's a bit far-fetched but the Japanese use a lot of English words which they just change to thei convenience! Purikura are soooo popular over there, a total frenzy!!!!

8.30pm: time for us to take the night bus to Kyoto... Indeed, trains are very very expensive in this country (well, transport in general), so it's much cheaper for us to travel on night buses.

Magasin de souvenirs à côté d'un temple. Ce n'est pas ce qui manque au Japon! Et ils ont toujours pleins de belles choses, alors comment résister??

Après la balade, on est rentrées à la Cité U pour manger un morceau, puis direction la gare pour se rendre au match de foot Kofu vs Kyoto... Petite note: l'équipe de Kofu, c'est Ventforêt... Eh oui, ils utilisent deux mots français, c'est fort, nan?!

On est arrivés au stade et là on a vu à quel point les Japonais supportent leur équipe locale. Il y avait des grands drapeaux, des banderoles, et des musiciens! Beaucoup de gens portaient des t-shirts de l'équipe de Kofu. Quelle ambiance, c'était trop sympa! Ca a commencé par des annonces au micro et le mec était déchaîné, il criait presque! Puis sans rien comprendre on s'est tous retrouvés sous une sorte de toile géante à l'effigie du club de Kofu!!!

Y avait aussi pleins de chansons pour encourager l'équipe, c'était trop marrant!!! A un moment, avec Béa on était trop mortes de rire car on entendait les supporters chanter "Ventforêt", et avec leur accent c'était trop mignon...

Sinon, une des chansons d'encouragement c'était sur l'air de "It's a heartache" de Bonnie Tyler. Donc trop fort, ça donnait : Allez Kofu, allez allez Kofu... Je vous laisse chanter vous-mêmes...

Le match a surtout bien été intéressant à la deuxième mi-temps avec 3 buts de Kofu, SVP!!!

Au final ils ont gagné 3-1.

Satisfaits, on retourne à la Cité U. Dodo.

A souvenir shop next to a temple. Well, you cannot miss them in Japan, they're everywhere! And they always have so many beautiful stuff... How can u not buy them??

After our little walk, we headed back to the student hall to have a bite and then walked to the station. From there we took a bus to see a football match: Kofu vs Kyoto... FYI: Kofu's football club is called Ventforet... Yeah, it's a French name - meaning wind and forest... Wicked!!

At the stadium we witnessed how supportive the Japanese were when it came to their local football club! There were big flags, banderoles and even musicians!!! By the way that was my first time attending a football match... A lot of people were wearing Ventforet t-shirts. Such a nice atmosphere! It all began with the guy on the mic shouting out loud the names of the players and other info. And then, next thing we knew we were all covered by a big kind of tent bearing the Ventforet mascot!!!

The supporters also sang a lot of songs, it was all good fun!!! At some point Bea and I cracked up cos we heard a fan saying "Ventforet", and with their Japanese accent, it was just so cute...

One of the songs they sang to support their team was based on the tune of "It's a heartache" by Bonnie Tyler. Mental! So there it went: Allez Kofu, allez allez Kofu... (translation: Go Kofu)... I'll leave it to u to sing...

The match was more interesting during the second half with 3 goals from Kofu, yes!!!

The final score was 3-1 for Kofu.

Happy about that we got back to the student hall. Time to sleep...
