Voici une photo super sympa d'une partie de la famille Chowlapin (on n'avait pas réussi à tous se retrouver malheureusement). Pour info, la famille Chowlapin est composée des assistants de français (plus Stephen) ayant passé un an à Londres entre 2001 et 2002. On s'est tous rencontrés là-bas (enfin "ici" pour moi LOL) et on a passé une année INOUBLIABLE!!! Que de souvenirs, de fous rires, de pleurs (lors des adieux), et de retrouvailles!

Je pense bien à chacun d'entre vous même si on a du mal à se voir maintenant! Heureusement y a internet, et puis Londres-Paris c'est carrément faisable donc je vous attends ici, et de mon côté je vais essayer de planifier un weekend à Paris pour tous vous revoir!

This is a cool picture of the Chowlapin family - only part of it as unfortunately we hadn't managed to get all together on that day. FYI the Chowlapin family is composed of the French language assistants (and Stephen) who spent 1 year in London between 2001 and 2002. We all met in London and spent such an AMAZING year! So many memories we can't forget, laughter and tears (when saying goodbye), and getting back together on some occasions!

I do think of u guys a lot even though we find it hard to see each other on a regular basis. Luckily we have the internet and anyway London-Paris is very easy to do. So I'm waiting for you and I will try and arrange a weekend in Paris so I can see all of you!

Salut tout le monde!

Je m'envole donc pour le Japon dans 7 jours exactement! Je compte les jours, c'est la folie... J'ai du mal à réaliser! Ca va être une expérience incroyable, et puis je vais revoir ma pitite soeur aussi!!! En plus, j'ai besoin de vacances là, donc ça tombe bien... Voici donc une photo de Béa avec Hugo (français) et Chinatsu. Elles portent des yukata (version moins chère et estivale du kimono), très jolis! Je vais donc essayer de m'en acheter un si j'ai l'occaz!!

Le voyage va être long, mais bon, j'espère réussir à m'occuper avec de la musique, des bouquins, des films... et j'espère pouvoir dormir aussi, je vais en avoir besoin!

Aujourd'hui a bien commencé pour ce fameux "weekend français", avec la victoire d'Amélie Mauresmo à Wimbledon! En espérant que demain notre équipe de foot gagne elle aussi... Vive la France comme me disent les gens ici! Ca fait plaisir d'entendre ça de la part des Anglais...

Cette aprem je suis allée à Lakeside shopping centre qui est un énorme centre commercial à seulement 10 minutes en train d'Upminster. Ca m'a d'ailleurs rappelé Bluewater dans le Kent, n'est-ce pas les gars? (je m'adresse à la famille Chowlapin!) J'ai trouvé pas mal de trucs et j'ai passé un bon moment là-bas.

Bon, je mérite une p'tite soirée trankilou now...

Hi everyone,

I'm off to Japan in 7 days precisely. Yeah, I'm literally counting the days... It's gonna be such a great experience! And I will see my li'l sister again!!! Yes!!! I just can't wait, and I really feel I need a holiday now. So here's a picture of Bea with Hugo (French guy) and Chinatsu. Their yukata (the "cheap" equivalent and summary version of kimonos) are really beautiful, so maybe I'll try and find one for myself!

The trip is gonna be a long one, so hopefully I'll manage to keep myself busy (music, books, films...) and to get some sleep, too as I will need it!

Today was a very good start for France as Amélie Mauresmo won Wimbledon... so hopefully tomorrow there will be another good news!!! Vive la France as everyone tells me now! So cool to hear that from English people by the way...

This afternoon I went to Lakeside which is a very big shopping centre just 10 minutes on the train from Upminster. It reminded me of Bluewater in Kent: do u remember guys? (I'm talking to the Chowlapin family...)

I bought quite a few stuff there and I had a good time looking for clothes.

So now I deserve a quiet night in...

Donc oui, on a passé une super soirée! J'étais quand même un peu triste que le Brésil perde vu que je les aime bien et que je les supportais... Mais je trouve ça super pour la France, donc now je suis remontée et je veux qu'ils gagnent!! S'ils vont en finale, ça sera déjà super!

On est rentrés vers 1H30 du mat' et avec Laeti on est restées à parler jusqu'à 2H30 je crois... ah les filles!!

Dimanche, j'ai accompagné Laeti à Stratford pour qu'elle puisse prendre son bus jusqu'à Stansted. Le chauffeur s'est mis à lui parler et lui a dit que je pouvais monter moi aussi si je voulais... euh nan merci! Aprés, il nous a entendu parler francais et s'est mis à nous tchatcher, nous poser pleins de questions. Et à un moment, il nous sort qu'on n'a pas besoin de travailler parce qu'on est des femmes et que les mecs sont là pour ça...  Mais bien sûr!! Et quand je disais au revoir à Laeti, il m'a lancé "si tu veux, tu peux m'épouser!"  Hallucinant... Nan, ça va aller! Enfin bon, c'était bien marrant!

Lundi au taf, je n'ai PAS été accueillie par de chaleureuses félicitations de la part de mes 2 boss pour notre victoire contre le Brésil... Trop déçue j'étais! (je blague bien sûr!). Ils devaient encore être sous le choc de leur propre défaite... taaaa! Mais ils m'ont quand même clairement dit qu'ils étaient pour la France désormais et que notre mission (si nous l'acceptons) était de battre le Portugal pour les venger! OK les mecs, je vais voir ce que je peux faire pour vous... hum! Du coup j'ai demandé à Michael (mon boss) si je devais amener mon drapeau francais au bureau et là il me sort "oui, d'ailleurs je vais aller en acheter un" (quel blagueur). J'ai vraiment de la chance de travailler au sein de cette équipe, mes collègues sont cools et relax...

OK, j'y vais... je suis naze...

Yeah, so it was a fun night! I was a bit sad that Brazil lost as I really like them and was supporting them. But in the end I think it's great for France and from now on I want them to win the World Cup! If they could reach the final, that'd be a turn up for the books!!! haha

So, everybody had a good time and we got home round 1.30am, and Laeti and I ended up talking till 2.30am...

On Sunday I took Laetitia to Stratford so she could take her coach back to Stansted Airport. The bus driver said something to her like "ur friend can come as well if she wants to"... No, thanks!! Then he heard us speak French and said "ur French? I speak French, too!" and he started asking us where we were from, what we were doing and so on. He also told us "but u shouldnt work, ur women, men are here to work and pay everything for u"... Yeah, sure!! As if we wanted to stay at home... no, thanks!  And as I was saying bye bye to Laeti he said to me "u can marry me if u like"!!!  Dont think so, nope... Anyway that was funny.

On Monday at work to my utter disappointment I was NOT greeted by my managers for winning over Brazil on Saturday.... I'm only joking, I know they must have been too disappointed and sad... But still they told me "from now on we will support France and we want u to beat Portugal for us!" (revenge...) OK, guys, I'll see what I can do for u...errrm! So I asked Michael (the Office Manager) "shall I bring my French flag at work?" and he said "actually yeah, I'm gonna buy one"... It's all good fun, and everybody's relaxed in this office, I'm very lucky indeed! (or "lu'y"!!!)

Ok, time for me to go... Knackered I am... (I speak like Yoda now!)

Et voici James, mon coloc (il y a Dale, James, Richard et moi!). Je l'appelle Jacques pour rigoler car il connaît pas mal de mots français! C'est un mec très sympa et très drôle.

And here is James (one of my flatmates with Dale and Richard). I sometimes call him Jacques cos he speaks a bit of French! A very nice guy, very funny.

Ma copine Laeti est donc venue me voir à Londres ce weekend. Yeah!! Arrivée vendredi soir, c'était super sympa de se retrouver! On a mangé à Stratford avant de rentrer à l'appart. Les mecs ont été super cools, quand ils nous ont entendu rentrer, ils sont venus nous voir dans le salon. On a donc passé quelques heures à discuter, blaguer, rigoler... juqu'à 2H du mat'!!

Samedi, avec Laeti on a donc marché de Tower Bridge juqu'à Covent Garden le long de la Tamise. On a fait un p'tit tour au Jubilee Market, puis Oxford Street. Y avait carrément trop de monde dans les rues. Je pensais que ça irait vu que l'Angleterre jouait contre le Portugal... Bref, on a fait du lèche-vitrine plus qu'autre chose et on en a eu vite marre vu la chaleur... On a ensuite rejoint Dale pour aller dans un pub où Neil et d'autres amis regardaient le match. C'était bondé!!! Y avait même des gens debout à l'entrée du pub pour regarder le match. INCROYABLE!!! Ici le foot c'est autre chose qu'en France! Quand l'Angleterre a perdu, les gens sont partis et le pub s'est vidé. On a donc pu rejoindre Neil et les autres. Et bien sûr à 20H, c'était à notre tour de regarder le foot puisque la France jouait contre le Brésil! On est donc allés manger une pizza, vite fait pas chère, et on est revenus pile poil pour suivre le match. Entre temps, plein de monde était arrivé et j'ai retrouvé Jon (Jon Cox que j'ai connu à la fac d'Angers). Ca m'a quand même fait plaisir de le revoir après tout ce temps sans se contacter.

La soirée était super: tout le monde a bien bu, rigolé, et je crois qu'on s'est tous bien amusés! On a même un peu poussé la chansonnette (BON JOVI!!!), et pseudo-dansé (brièvement)...

My good friend Laeti spent the weekend in London! Yeah! She arrived on Friday night and it was great to catch up! We had some food in Stratford before making our way home to Upminster. The guys were here to greet us so that was cool. We spent a few hours talkin, jokin, laughin...till about 2am!

On the Saturday Laeti and I walked from Tower Bridge along the river up to Covent Garden where we had a look at the Jubilee Market. We then headed towards Oxford Street. There were still a lot of people in the streets though I had expected fewer of them due to England vs Portugal...  Anyway we went window-shopping for a little while, but quickly decided to get out of here. We then met up with Dale and made our way to a pub near Goodge Street where Neil and other friends were watching the match... It was sooooooo crowded and people were even standing outside to keep on eye on the score. AMAZING! Football takes another dimension in this country! So when England lost the pub emptied and we were able to get in to meet Neil and the others. Of course, at 8pm it was our turn and Laeti and I wanted to watch France-Brazil! So we went for a quick and cheap pizza and got back to the pub in time. More people had arrived and I saw Jon (Jon Cox whom I met at the University of Angers). It was great to catch up after all this time!

We had so much fun drinkin, watchin the game, laughin... It was a great night! Everybody was cheerful and enjoying themselves! There was even some singing at some point and a bit of  "dancing"....
