Me revoilà! Donc, mardi soir on est allés au pub avec Dale et James (mes colocs) car tous les mardis y a un quizz dans notre pub local (à 2 min de chez nous). Bon, la France jouait aussi ce soir-là, donc heureusement qu'il y avait un écran pour que je puisse suivre de temps en temps!

On a été plutôt nuls au quizz (comme d'hab), mais je suis contente car j'ai quand même trouvé 2 réponses: l'anagramme et la bonne réponse pour la République Tchèque (même si "quelqu'un" m'a dit que c'était faux...) J'ai aussi gagné des Quality Street et une bouteille de Chardonnay (made in... California, quel sacrilège!) à la tombola. Eh oui, deux de mes tickets ont été tirés au sort! C'était mon jour de chance, je crois (ça et le fait que la France ait battu l'Espagne)

Ah oui, à un moment, la nana du quizz pose une question et les gars écrivent la réponse, et moi comme une *****  je la lis tout haut!!! CRYSTAL PALACE!!! Allez! Dale et James m'ont regardé l'air de dire "mais qu'est-ce que t'as fait????" Ooops! Désolée....

On est rentrés et avec James on a décidé d'embêter Dale dans sa chambre... Blagues et cie... Quelle soirée!

Le lendemain au taf j'ai été accueillie par des félicitations pour le match de la part de mes deux boss... hehe

So here's the latest update! On Tuesday night James, Dale and I went to our local pub (every Tuesday there's the pub quizz). France was also playing that day, so I made sure I could at least keep an eye on the score... hehe

We were quite rubbish at the quizz, but I was very happy to find the anagram for MINNESOTA and the right answer for the Czech Republic (though "somebody" told me it was wrong...). There was also the lottery and lucky me 2 of my numbers were picked up! So watch out... I won... a box of Quality Street chocolates and a bottle of Chardonnay (from California!! Cant believe it!). That was my lucky day as France won their match vs Spain, too!!!

One funny story: at some point the quizz woman asked a question and I saw the guys write down the answer, and I don't know why I just shouted "CRYSTAL PALACE"!!! Why oh why? Dale and James just looked at me.... Oops,sorry, guys!!! :-(

We went back home and decided to hang out in Dale's room for some last jokes. We were really tired and talked nonsense... But what a funny (and lucky) night!

The day after I was greeted by my managers at work with a happy "CONGRATULATIONS!" in reference to the match of course... hehe

Voici la vue qu'on a de Leigh-on-Sea. Comme je l'ai dit, c'est pas vraiment ni la plage ni la mer, mais c'est quand même mieux que rien!

This is the view we had from Leigh-on-Sea. As I said it is not really the beach nor the sea, but still... Be'er than nothin'!!!

Tchin tchin (d'Afflelou, haha)!! Une bonne pinte de shandy, rien de tel pour se rafraîchir!

Voilà donc un p'tit résumé de mon weekend: samedi je suis allée à Leigh-on-Sea avec Dale. C'est à environ 5 ou 6 arrêts d'Upminster en allant à l'est. C'est super sympa comme endroit, on se sent presque à la mer (même si on la voit pas vraiment...). En plus, y avait pas mal de soleil, donc on en a profité pour se balader et ensuite se poser dans un pub (tiens, tiens), The Crooked Billet (traduisez le bâton tordu...). Ce pub est super sympa et on était assis près de la fenêtre donc on voyait tout ce qui se passait dehors (cf la photo prise du pub). On était bien placés quoi. Après, on est allés dans un autre pub pour manger (et boire biensûr!!!), on a marché un peu et puis on s'est posés sur un mur à l'extérieur pour un dernier verre ("one for the road" as they say). C'était super agréable d'être dehors par ce temps-là et de regarder les bateaux de nuit. On pouvait aussi voir les îles en face (même si on est pas sûr de quelles îles il s'agissait).

On est rentrés vers 10.30-11pm, donc c'était une belle journée, loin de Londres pour changer un peu.

So this is an update on my last weekend: on Saturday Dale and I went to Leigh-on-Sea which is about 5 or 6 stops towards the East from Upminster. It's a very nice place and u kinda feel ur by the seaside even though u can't really see the sea... It was a very sunny day so we decided to walk along the "beach" and then get a drink in a very nice pub called The Crooked Billet. This pub is very cosy and we sat by the window so that we could see outside (this is the view we had from our seats). That was a great spot actually. We then decided to get to another pub to have some food (and another drink, of course!), walked for a while and then sat on a wall outside for a last drink. It was very pleasant sitting outside with the cool weather and looking at the boats at night. We could clearly see a few islands opposite Leigh-on-Sea (though we're not sure which ones they were).

We got the train home round 10.30pm, so that was a very good day, outside of London for a change.
